FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How do I get started? Contact us! We will discuss the training process and costs involved in more detail. We encourage anyone interested to come in to our location and take a tour and get further information. We also offer intro flights for those who want to find out if this will be the right choice for them.
2. How much will this cost? How much the program costs will vary from person to person. If you look at our rates page, you can see the basic hour minimums for each rating. Our dual rate for the R22 is 225.00 an hour for dual instruction which includes helicopter, fuel and instruction.
3. Do I have to know how to fly airplanes first? No. You don't need to have any experience at all, we will teach you everything you need to know.
4. Are there any other prerequisites? You can start training at any point but you will need to be at least 17 years old for a private rating and 18 years old for a commercial. Also, you will need to get an FAA medical, we can direct you to a FAA medical examiner when needed.
5. How long does it take to get done? The program will take a varying amount of time depending on your availability. If you can devote yourself to the training full time, it is not unheard of to go from beginning to Certified Flight Instructor in 12 months. If you are only able to fly on weekends, it will obviously take you longer. You are free to set your own schedule and can get done as quickly as you want.
6. Are there other costs? There are some other costs; you will need to purchase some text books and supplies such as a headset. You will also have to pay for your check rides and written tests. If you would like a more detailed breakdown, let us know and we will be happy to discuss them with you.

8. Why Robinson Helicopters? The R22 and R44 have proved themselves as the most reliable and best priced training aircraft in the world. We use Robinson's because of their track record and since most schools use this aircraft, it gives our CFI graduates the best chance of finding work as an instructor when they are done with training.
